Ideal Announces IIN - The Ideal Information Network

Replacement of the existing IBM RS/6000 Model 320 using 19.2kbps serial connections with an IBM RS/6000 Model F30 attached to a 10mbps Ethernet Network. While speed is the overwhelming enhancement over the old system, it will also pave the way for numerous services provided to each user on the network such as email, word processing and Source ASA.

Upgrading to Eclipse 5.0. Our application software provider, Eclipse Inc., will be installing their latest release 5.0 by the end of the year. The majority of the existing programs will remain functionally the same. There will be many add-ons and enhancements to the system that have been included as the result of our efforts and those of other members of the Eclipse user group, the User Friendly Organization (UFO). Also, Eclipse has optimized the program and file structure to operate between 15 and 50 times faster than Release 4.

Creation of the IIN Website. Due to the installation of the Ethernet Network, both Internet and intranet services will be accessible to all. This in turn paves the way for a fully-functional Website. The Website will be expanded for Internet use, external email, web pages and online commerce, to name a few.
